Fresh plea to let traffic resume

October 11, 2014

Assistant Commissioner for Transport Albert Su says the illegal occupation of roads has adversely affected public transport and the transport trade's livelihood, and he urges protesters to leave as soon as possible.

He said at a press conference today that public transport service providers' frontline staff have been facing difficulties in providing services to meet the public’s need amid road blockades.

Drivers’ work and meal arrangements are also affected because some stops were blocked, and they were forced to use makeshift stops, he added.

Mr Su said people in the taxi, mini-bus and logistics trades have also complained that their income has fallen during this period.
