Chief Executive CY Leung said today that the Government spares no effort in promoting the Basic Law and hopes people can fully understand the city\'s mini-constitution.
Speaking to reporters this morning, Mr Leung said the Basic Law codified \'One country, two systems\' as Hong Kong\'s governing principle. The Basic Law\'s 160 articles cover areas including the relationship between the Central and Hong Kong Governments, Hong Kong\'s political system, and people\'s rights and duties.
Mr Leung noted that the \'One country, two systems\' principle is adopted in accordance with the law, as Hong Kong is a society governed by the rule of law.
He added that he will expose the external forces participating in Hong Kong\'s political activities, including the Occupy movement, at a suitable time.
