Genuine universal suffrage should comply with the Basic Law and the NPC Standing Committee's decisions, Chief Executive CY Leung said today.
Addressing reporters ahead of this morning's Executive Council meeting, Mr Leung noted that any form of resistance cannot achieve universal suffrage for Hong Kong.
He reiterated that the Basic Law does not mention civil nomination and urged the community to push forward with reforms in accordance with the Basic Law.
