Reform talks tentatively set for Oct 10

The Government has agreed to have talks on constitutional reform with Federation of Students representatives, tentatively set for October 10.

 

Undersecretary for Constitutional & Mainland Affairs Lau Kong-wah made the announcement after meeting with students this evening.

 

The dialogue will be held at 4pm at a venue to be confirmed tomorrow. It will be open to the media.

 

Chief Secretary Carrie Lam, Secretary for Justice Rimsky Yuen and Secretary for Constitutional & Mainland Affairs Raymond Tam will attend the meeting, during which the issue of the constitutional basis and the legal basis of the constitutional reforms will be discussed with the students.

 

Mr Lau said the Government is looking forward to more opportunities to communicate with the students in the future.
