Secretary for Justice Rimsky Yuen reiterated that there is no legal basis for holding a referendum in the Basic Law, nor in Hong Kong's legal system.
He told reporters today that voting in an ongoing unofficial referendum cannot be regarded as legally-binding, and that it can be seen as no more than an expression of opinion by the general public.
