More COVID-19 drugs per order

April 24, 2023

In light of the recent epidemic situation, the amount of COVID-19 oral drugs private doctors can request via an online platform will be increased from six to 10 courses per order with immediate effect, the Government announced today.

The Government reiterated that it has been closely monitoring the usage of COVID-19 oral drugs.

It explained that in view of the recent increasing COVID-19 activity, private doctors' demand for Paxlovid and Molnupiravir, the two COVID-19 oral drugs, as well as the number of people they have written prescriptions for have increased.

After reviewing the stock of Government-procured COVID-19 oral drugs, the Government decided to relax the number of courses that private doctors can request via the platform each time.

The Department of Health has issued a letter notifying private doctors of the relevant arrangement.

The Government will monitor the relevant situation, the Government added.
