Alfred Sit's secretary tests positive

March 2, 2022

A secretarial staff working for Secretary for Innovation & Technology Alfred Sit has tested positive for COVID-19 while Mr Sit has tested negative, the Innovation & Technology Bureau said today.

It noted that Mr Sit has been taking a rapid antigen test for COVID-19 every day and the results are all negative.

The bureau explained that the colleague is responsible for secretarial duties for Mr Sit and does not have contact with the public. She also had no recent travel history.

While at work, she wore masks and followed disease prevention measures. She last performed her duties on February 24 and met with Mr Sit on February 22.

Thorough cleansing and sterilisation at the workplace concerned will be conducted, and arrangements will be made for relevant staff to undergo testing.

The bureau said it will continue to implement disease prevention measures vigorously and has reminded its staff to heed personal hygiene and stay vigilant at all times.
