5 more testing centres to open

Five new community testing centres at Leighton Hill Community Hall in Wan Chai, Morse Park Sports Centre in Wong Tai Sin, Pak Tin Community Hall in Sham Shui Po, Tai Wo Sports Centre in Tai Po and Wai Tsuen Sports Centre in Tsuen Wan will gradually open next week, the Government announced today.

 

The existing nine community testing centres in Eastern District, Yau Ma Tei, Sha Tin, Yuen Long, Lai King, Fanling, Tuen Mun, Hang Hau and Yau Tong will continue to provide services. With the five new centres coming into operation, there will be a total of 14 community testing centres.

 

The centres provide self-paid COVID-19 testing services for the public at a more affordable price to serve general community or private purposes such as certification for travelling or work.

 

The price of testing services is capped at $240, with payment to be made in accordance with the arrangement of testing contractors.

 

The five additional testing centres will operate for an initial period of three months. Subject to the situation, it may be extended for another three months.

 

The community testing centres will provide specimen collection services using combined nasal and throat swabs and COVID-19 testing services for all asymptomatic individuals holding valid Hong Kong identity cards, Hong Kong birth certificates or other valid identity documents.

 

They are open daily from 8am to 1.30pm and from 2.30pm to 8pm. Deep cleaning and disinfection will be conducted when they close in the afternoon and at night.

 

Booking and walk-in services are available. Those with advance bookings will be given priority.

  

Additionally, the Government is preparing to open another five community testing centres at Shek Tong Tsui Sports Centre, To Kwa Wan Sports Centre, Ngau Tau Kok Road Sports Centre, Ma On Shan Sports Centre and Tin Ching Community Hall in Tin Shui Wai. The details will be announced later.
