Oi! opens to realise creative dreams
Oi! is the new art space under the Leisure & Cultural Services Department’s Art Promotion Office, which will encourage people to unlock their creative potential and enrich Hong Kong's cultural life.Explore imagination: Oi! opens to provide a new art space for the community.
Urban oasis: Oi! has a 300 square metre lawn offering an oasis in the dense urban surroundings.
Historical site: Oi! is a Grade 2 historical building, with a variety of roofs, and the sharp contrast between the red brick walls and the coarse stucco facade.
Exhibition platform: Oi! houses two exhibition galleries for artists to present a wide range of programmes and activities.
Liquid listening: Cedric Maridet created the Mechanics of Shadows: Water Days exhibit by collecting the sounds of the sea around Hong Kong and projecting them as a means to question the human relationship with sound.
Artists’ statement: Oil! offers exhibits introductions and tours for audiences to better understand the exhibition.
