Traffic control measures to stay

October 21, 2014

Temporary traffic control measures to relieve congestion will continue since major roads are still closed due to protests, the Transport Department said today.

People are advised to allow more time for their journeys as routes and the frequency of public transport services are still unstable.

There will be special traffic arrangements in place for tomorrow night's horse races in Happy Valley and traffic in the area is expected to be very busy. People are urged not to drive to Hong Kong Island if they can help it.

The department reported that a total of 224 bus routes are still affected, with eight routes suspended and 216 diverted.

A total of 23 green minibus routes remain diverted or suspended, and there are still no tram services between Percival Street and Victoria Park.
