A total of 174 of the 179 blood samples taken from public estate residents affected by lead in drinking water have been found to contain normal levels of lead, the Department of Health announced today.
The remaining five residents, all of whom are children, are on borderline raised lead levels in the range of 5.1 to 6.9 micrograms per decilitre, indicating potential health risks.
The department will perform lead exposure assessments and arrange preliminary developmental assessments for them, and the Hospital Authority will provide health evaluations.

As at 5pm today the hotline had received 7,659 enquiries and arranged 4,773 blood tests.
