Chief Secretary Carrie Lam says the behaviour of some legislators during the Chief Executive’s question and answer session this morning, especially the throwing of a glass item, is unacceptable.
Speaking to the media today, Mrs Lam said she has written to the Legislative Council chairman to express her concerns and asked him to implement measures to prevent any recurrence.
She said the actions not only threatened the safety of the Chief Executive and other people, but was also destructive to the council’s dignity and image.
Officials conducting constitutional reform have also faced disruption caused by students in recent months when attending public functions, and she urged them to express their opinions in a peaceful and rational manner.
