Subsidy application streamlined

February 17, 2022

Eligible operators of beauty parlours, massage establishments and party rooms who have submitted an application under the fifth round of the Anti-epidemic Fund will not be required to submit a fresh application under the sixth round.

The Government said the move was made in an effort to streamline the application procedure and facilitate the speedier disbursement of the subsidy.

It announced on February 14 that it was seeking a $27 billion injection into the fund’s sixth round, which was approved by the Legislative Council Finance Committee on February 15.

Under the fund’s sixth round, beauty parlours, massage establishments and party rooms, including local pleasure vessels let for hire or reward, will be rendered further financial relief.

The Government will grant the applicable level of subsidy under both the fifth and sixth rounds of the fund to successful applicants, which will be disbursed in one lump sum.

The application period for the Subsidy Scheme for Beauty Parlours, Massage Establishments & Party Rooms 2022 will close on February 20 and the scheme’s online application system will cease receiving applications after 11.59pm that day.

Late applications will not be considered.
